INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY AUGUST - 12 - 2019
KENYA is a developing nation with a complex and diverse society of which a large percentage is young. This is a vibrant, constructive force that has great potential to address social issues and create a more just, equitable, and peaceful world. Kenya's ratio of youth (aged 15-24) to the population stands at 20.3 per cent, above the world's average of 15.8 per cent and 19.2 per cent for Africa. The millennials add up to 10.1 million out of Kenya's population of 49.7 million, data from US-based Population Reference Bureau (PRB) shows.
KAGOECH FOUNDATION TRUST recognizes the youth as change agents who have the energy, passion, and creativity to make significant contribution to society while also building their skills for the future. More importantly, we aim at building, strengthening and increasing capacities and awareness of young people (through EDUCATION) in sustainable environmental and biodiversity conservation and management strategies. This is an alignment with the theme of International Youth Day 2019.
